Aurora

Getting in contact with pilots of big balloons, I kindly was invited to a flight onboard the RTL balloon by a luxemburgish pilot Sauber Jean in 1985. So I got infected by the famous'balloon virus'. Starting first as a crew member, I got my PPL for big balloons in 1989. In 1990 I was a national luxemburgish champion.
I participated in balloon meetings all around Europe.
Bern, Frauenfeld and Chateau d'Oex (Switzerland) Metz (France) Bristol (England) Tournai,Brussels, Le Roeulx (Belgium),and as an absolute highlight,the participation on the first international balloon fiesta in Leningrad (Russia) in 1990.
In 1991 I bought my own balloon, a nice double person carrying balloon, constructed by the american balloon builder AEROSTAR. It is a type of an AURORA 54 K balloon, after 17 years an 320 hours of flight the Aurora is no longer air wake.
